Happy New Year to you all – my wonderful clients, family and friends. It has certainly been a difficult time for many this past year. Instead of wishing to see the back of 2021 and not have any positive feelings around the previous days, I am choosing to look for all the lessons it gave me. Would you like to do the same?

Is this positive thinking or just being realistic – that no matter how bad things are in life, we get the gift of a new day and a new way to see what we have experienced every morning we wake up? I am always exploring this thought process.

Perhaps, instead of new years resolutions we take some solace from the fact that we are exactly where we need to be and can drive forward positive changes still, every day we are gifted with life.

Do you journal? Paint, sing or dance? Connection to oneself is key to enhancing positivity. I can always help you with this.

This year, I am choosing to focus on the good (with the bad and the ugly at a healthy distance), engaging in all things that support my healing journey and make me feel good. Good about me, good about others and good about the world. More movement, cleaner eating, less toxins, always the three main goals every day. I’m not perfect, but I wouldn’t want to be. I want to be happy – and balance is the key to this state of thinking.

It isn’t easy – trust me – there will be many days where the challenge of being a ‘glass half full’ kinda person is so tough, it feels impossible.

But, just by engaging in the thoughts that you can be that person is so powerful. You can smile in the face of adversity, chaos and pain, because you know you have a roof over your head, a bed to sleep in or the simple joy of a good friend. Remaining rational and realistic is a part of being positive.
